Hazel Moves On!

One of the band’s talented members, Hazel Nelson, has taken up a new teaching appointment in Glasgow.

Hazel has been with the band for a number of years, playing mostly Baritone and Euphonium. However in a recent contest she made a great sound on Eb bass!

Hazel will be based in the Sighthill/Springburn area on the east side of Glasgow, where she will be teaching in a number of schools.

Initially Hazel will be contracted for a year with a view to an extension, to be reviewed at Christmas.

The band are very sorry to lose Hazel, as she was always willing to help out wherever she was needed. As well as being a multi talented brass musician, Hazel also plays Saxophone and is a qualified singing teacher, having sung with the award winning Loughside Chamber Choir for many years.

She was known to have “tinkled the ivories” as well, as she proved on one of the band’s trips to the Limerick International Band Festival!
