Still plenty of weekly concerts to be had from Newtownabbey's finest brass band. 15/06/08 - Picnic In The Park At Mount Stewart Ballyduff Silver band had the pleasure of playing to a large audience at Mount Stewart Gardens (Co Down) on Sunday 15th June. 12/06/08 - Local Band Awarded BT Grant Local band, Ballyduff Silver, in Newtownabbey has been awarded £100 by the BT Community Champions award scheme thanks to the voluntary work of Mark McKnight, a BT employee. 08/06/08 - The Summer Programme has launched! Ballyduff’s summer programme is already under way. The first performance on 28th May was at the Thompson Primary School, Ballyrobert. 10/05/08 - Clare Chorale Concert The band was pleased to accept an invitation to participate in what was formerly the Old Ballyclarians Choir concert. They have been renamed the Clare Chorale and have a membership of some 40 members. They were formed five years ago and the band were guests at their first concert in Ballynure. 22/04/08 - Newtownabbey Borough Council Sport's Awards 2008 Three members of the band were to the forefront at Newtownabbey Borough Council’s annual Sports Awards. They played fanfares as the winners of the various awards made their way to the stage. Mark McKnight, Jenny Hill and the band’s conductor were secreted on the gallery at Ballyearl Theatre and Leisure Complex. 12/04/08 - Ross Aiken Memorial Trophy 12/04/08 - BBL Spring Festival 2008 19/03/08 - Ballyduff Silver Band spend St Patrick's Weekend in Limerick 01/03/08 - Ballyduff Silver Band President Ron Hill Senior passes away Ron Hill Snr passed away today after a battle with Cancer. He was the band President for many years. The funeral is on Friday 7th March, 2008 at the Church of Ireland beside Carnmoney Cemetery. The funeral will start at 13:00 hrs. 23/02/08 - Ballyduff Silver Band 'March to Success' at Fivemiltown 2008 21/11/07 - Death of Mr Ross Aiken Ballyduff Silver Band have recently suffered the great loss of Ross Aiken who passed away on 21st November after a battle with cancer.
