After their success at last year’s Brass in Concert, held in the Valley Hotel, Fivemiletown, the band carried on in a similar manner this year. 23/11/08 - Ballyduff Brass Group Ballyduff Silver Band’s training group, Ballyduff Brass has made an encouraging start. 12/11/08 - Busy Christmas Ahead For Ballyduff With the summer season over, everyone in the band is looking forward to Christmas. Plenty of carols and festivity. 06/11/08 - Ballyduff Brass Ballyduff Silver Band are starting a Junior band known as Ballyduff Brass. Everyone welcome! 04/10/08 - Summer 2008 Season Ends A long summer of entertaining the population of Newtownabbey has come to an end. The band now look forward to their Christmas engagements. 17/08/08 - Unlucky Fall For Jeff Dedication, especially in bands, is a word that seems to be disappearing rapidly nowadays. That couldn’t be said of Jeff McGivern the band’s 1st Baritone player! 17/08/08 - Hazel Moves On! One of the band’s talented members, Hazel Nelson, has taken up a new teaching appointment in Glasgow. 05/08/08 - Dancing With The Duff Unbeknown to the conductor, who was expecting a cornet entry, a number of the crowd had actually got up and started to dance!! The dancers were just within eyeshot of the cornet section who were rather amused by these goings on, hence their inability to play!! 04/07/08 - Busy Summer Continues For Ballyduff The band continue to be busy going into the summer months. Still plenty of weekly concerts to be had from Newtownabbey's finest brass band. 15/06/08 - Picnic In The Park At Mount Stewart Ballyduff Silver band had the pleasure of playing to a large audience at Mount Stewart Gardens (Co Down) on Sunday 15th June. 12/06/08 - Local Band Awarded BT Grant Local band, Ballyduff Silver, in Newtownabbey has been awarded £100 by the BT Community Champions award scheme thanks to the voluntary work of Mark McKnight, a BT employee. 08/06/08 - The Summer Programme has launched!
